Summer vacations for families & groups
6 night stays during the summer - Our goal is, has been, and will continue to be making sure Camp Familial St-Urbain remains an acessible natural open space preserved for the enjoyment of all. During the summer season when lac Hersey and the surrounding woods are busiest with campers and vacationers; the staff, animators, grounds crew, aquatics and cafeteria team are running as fast as they can to keep up with the needs of those they have welcomed. Accomodations, animation, and 3 healthy meals a day are included in the price of your visit.
Animation and activities are organised on a daily basis and weather plays a part in that too. Age groupings and interests give vacationers a choice throughout the day: some have been known to sit in a chaise lounge all day long by the beach with a book. When the dinner bell rings, it`s time to eat. It goes by all too quickly but the good time around the camp fires last forever.
Vacationers are welcomed on Sunday evenings in the summer and asked to make way from their accomodations so housekeeping can get busy on Saturday after breakfast. As a footnote, parents should know that the camp is a safe and secure environment for their children but must remain available at all times if the camp needs them.
There are 3 dorms with indoor plumbing at the camp in addition to the many cabins. The cabins are the original buildings on the site and while some are twenty-five years old, some are fifty and older. These cabins are grouped closely together within short walking distance to common latrines with showers, wash basins, and toilets. FYI: The camp pays particular attention to the needs of visitors with physical challenges.
Animation - The camp' s tradition in animation is well-known and appreciated by countless children over the many years the programme has been in place. This dedicated group of arts, theatre, and fun enthusiasts bring a special warmth to the camp. It`s wonder and mystery and humour in friendship that make the days a positive experience.
Each group has one or two animators and adults are welcome to join in and interact. For the really young ones, the camp has a daycare which is open for babies of 9 months `til toddlers of 3 years.
Activities in the camp - Trail hiking, animated forest games, camping, nature discovery, fitness challenge, canoes, kayaks, pedal boats, archery, volley-ball, bocci court, swimming supervised by accredited lifeguards, accompanied lake crossings for swimming enthusiasts, improvisation, social games, team games, fishing, dance, arts & crafts and campfire stories and songs! Something of interest for everyone!
